Upon the impulse of the electronic artists' collective Neurosystem, the E.Motion festival was created, linking together 10 parties, a conference, multimedia installations, audiovisual concerts and mixes, giving evidence that collective and alternative approaches are possible by breaking the usual walls and landmarks between styles and practices.
Shooting
We directed the shooting of this short film aimed at promoting the event.
In order to convey both the electronic message and the emotional side of the concept, we suggested to use digital projections onto human bodies, emphasized by close-ups of facial expressions.
A series of small sequences was shot, in which we displayed each main artists' name onto a specific pose of our two dancers.
In order to limit the effects of the projection to the models' shape, we used a setup with IR camera and real time silhouette detection. A custom software was developed to achieve this task, including infrared camera calibration, words dimensioning and placement.
The sound track has been composed specifically by Arnaud from Splank Studio.
